On Thursday 30th June at 12am, Polifactory will host an Open Seminar entitled “Social Design and Aesthetics“, with renowned professor and member of the Master Advisory Board Ilpo Koskinen as main speaker.
Does aesthetic disappear, or just change its form?
It examines this question by studying recent examples of social design from Asia, Europe, and South America. It argues that currently, there are three prevailing aesthetics in design: agonistic, convivial and conceptual.
It also argues that these lead designers into different ways of understanding their role in bringing forth change, and also into what role products, visuals, spaces and interactive technologies can take in change.
